ROBERTS Repair Putty for Wood, Laminate and Vinyl - Dark Brown (3 oz.)

Being a novice DIYer, I had left a very noticeable gap between two laminate planks. I decided to try this even though I was concerned after seeing the picture accompanying one review showing the product had shrunk after application. The same thing happened for me after the initial application, but then I realized: this product is not intended to be elastic, like caulk; it is intended to harden like the planks on either side. A second application mostly cured the problem; I am debating a third application, but it is really not necessary. This product makes my blunder almost unnoticeable. (BTW, this does not occur when covering surface mars, which are completely covered in one application.)

It's a decent product. I don't know if I was using it wrong, but, I tried to wipe the excess and it looked like a hot mess for a couple of days. The color matches my floors perfectly and applying it was easy. It did eventually harden and looked better but the excess stayed on the floor for a couple of days and eventually was gone. It's been a couple of weeks and it's still holding up. I did try it in other places and I didn't have the same issue with the excess. I would recommend to just make sure you follow the directions. It does have clear instructions and cures in the time it says that it should when applied correctly.

This is an amazing product! We unfortuanately got a deep scrape on our very expensive laminate click together flooring in the kitchen. I was horrified when I saw it and pretty much thought there was no way to resolve the issue without replacing the entire floor. Then I found this product. It was so incredibly easy to use. A perfect match to our flooring color. Because our floor has color variations in it anyway, you cannot even see the repair when you look at the floor. In fact, my husband came into the kitchen to examine the repair. He pointed to a an area on the floor near where the damage had been and said he could see the repair but that it was hardly noticeable. I started laughing because the spot he was pointing at was not even the spot I had repaired. It was just a variation the the flooring color that stood out to him. When I pointed out the actual repair spot to him, he couldn't even see what I had done. It blended right in. Absolutely amazing product!

I may need another round of application but for what I needed it for, it was surprisingly exactly what was needed

The color was great. In fact, the product was great. But the squeeze tube didn’t work for me. I thought the applicator tip would be great for what I was doing, but it ended up being very messy. I will buy putty in a jar next time.

Good color. Easy cleanup. Very low odor. Durability: Will be determined over time.Size: Good size and easy to hold, handle and apply.Dry time: I guess it's quick.Recommend taping the edges prior to application to avoid smearing or overflow.Apply lightly. It is the consistency of Elmer's glue or wood glue without the tackies. It applies smoothly and needs to be leveled out and may smear or go outside of the filled area. Hence the recommendation taping that area off and having a clean shop towel or paper towel handy for clean up.

I panicked because the flooring in my home is new and now I had a deep gouge in the floor. I purchased two tubes (in different colors) figuring one would match better than the other, or I could blend them if needed. The gouge was no bigger than my pinky nail and less than 1/4 inch deep. The tubes are MUCH larger than I anticipated. Now I have tons of product just in case. Application is easy, drying time is quick though they recommend letting the spot "cure" at least 24 hours. I smoothed the spot with a straight edge and wiped off the extra with a wet, warm cloth. I can see where the patch is, but I doubt anyone else can. I do recommend this product - I have some extra in brown tones if you need it. ; )
