Hi,The stainless steel filter in the centre of the Aberdeen just clicks right off for easy washing/cleaning.

Hi Eric,Hi Eric,Yes you can use it with teas as fine as a Rooibos with very little residue. Of course if there is tea dust that will go through.

Q: Is this dishwasher safe?

Yes it's safe for home and also for commercial dishwashers. The aberdeen is used in many cafes and restaurants as well and used in commercial and home dishwashers as its 100% tritan and stainless steel unlike other similar tea steepers that have outer tritan but inner cheap polypropylene material. This tea steeper can easily withstand the high temperatures in a dishwasher while in other brands filters warp from the heat very easily. This will.be a more durable tea steeper if you will be putting it in a dishwasher than others. Thanks for the question!

Q: Will boiling water warp the plastic pot?

Nope. I have used 'boiling' water on some herbal teas and it's perfectly fine. It's designed to be used to steep.
