Warner Manufacturing90199, 6-in-1, Multicolor

By all accounts, this is a well built tool. Nice grip, sharp edge. Has metal covered end for hammering nails and paint can lids. It was a nice replacement to my prior well worn tool. Also like that the handle is molded, not two halves that are riveted - no given what so ever.

Super heavy duty for the price. My son uses these to scrape and clean fry grills at work. I have purchased several other types recently (because his co-workers keep misplacing them) at higher price points and this one is very sturdy and impressive for the cost. Great value.

Sturdy with a good grip handle.

Great "5 in 1" tool (ya, I know it's an 8 in 1, but everyone calls these 5 in 1's). The stiffness is excellent and the utility blade, while not knife-sharp, is close enough to open packaging & boxes. The point is sharper and better angled than on Warner's actual 5 in 1. The butt could use a little more curve to it for setting drywall screws and nails, but it's OK and everything else is excellent. The extra width over a regular 5-in-1 hasn't been an issue for me at all. Comfortable handle.The only downside to the extra width is pocketing the tool.Oh, and the labels peeled right off ...

If you are like me, I missed reading that characteristics of the part that it is carbon steel! Meaning, it will rust! The tool itself is very handy, sturdy, useful, and has a very solid feel. However, once you wash it and forgets to wipe off before air drying, you will end up with a pool of rust water where it is kept. Not a big deal, but sore to eye and need to be double sure that you wipe the rust off before you do the work with it next time. I like the tool otherwise and it is my go to tool whenever I paint. Now I know why it is called painter's tool, as it saves a lot of time which otherwise would have needed multiple tools to get all the works done using this tool!

I'm an industrial painter by trade. Speaking from experience using many different kinds of 5 in 1s. This is by far my favorite. Handle is rubberized, pommel is hard plastic. Pommel does not/will not come loose or fall off like other brands. It is quite slim compared to other models, fits in my front pocket while most others are too long or too bulky. I carry mine on an elastic tool lanyard with a caribiner. Rubber handle cleans up really nice with acetone without degrading the plastic. I like and carry it every day, decided to buy another for home and write a review. I work in an industrial environment with epoxies and thinners.*UPDATE*I carried the one that I initially did the review on for over a year. I ruined and wore down the edge from scraping about 500 square feet of concrete. The accelerated wear wasn’t a failure of the tool, but was due to hard use and scraping an abrasive surface. The photo is a a comparison of other popular brand painters tools. Second to the right is the original Warner that I retired, I only kept it for this review. The far right is a new one that I have not taken to the jobsite as of yet. I currently carry the Purdy (second from left) because I got it for free through my job. The one on the left is a Red Devil brand, also acquired on the jobsite. As you can tell from the photo the Purdy is much longer than the Warner and the scraping portion of the Red Devil is too wide in my opinion. The Warner fits right in the middle based on weight and overall size. The Warner is still the winner but I keep it at home until the others I have fail. The original Warner one was subject to very hard wear and exposed to a myriad of industrial chemicals, very impressive how it has performed and how long it lasted given the circumstances. I’m sure the casual user or tradesperson can get a lifetime of normal use from the Warner.

I use this to scape other things. Has a nice thin edge. Good quality!!

It's honestly too stiff for a putty knife, but that's not what I bought it for.It's great for prying off trim without damaging it or the casing. They make a flexible version for putty, but is really a trim pry bar despite the name.
