Outstanding product. Works as advertised.
This device is the best. Easy to use and the bundled software makes converting old VHS tapes to .mpg files a breeze. I'm really impressed with this item. Just remember to click the square, blue button at the bottom of the video screen AFTER your VHS tape has finished. It's the STOP button for the VHS to DVD software. Otherwise, the program continues to RECORD.

Misleading-does not transfer 8mm film
The description is misleading- it mentions transferring "8mm Film"- I asked how it could do that, and the answer is it cannot be done with this.If you want to transfer VHS or Betamax etc. to DVD you don't need this thing at all- just connect the old player to the DVD recorder....-

Not on Windows 10!
I have used an older model Honestech VHS to DVD converter on Windows 7Pro for years. I was forced to change over to Windows 10 and discovered my old unit created square green artifacts flashing all though the screen - and included them on the DVD recording. I thought upgrading to the latest version would maybe correct the problem, so I got the "7.0 Plus" version. It did not fix the problem. I have not been able to make any setting changes, including running the program in "Windows 7 compatibility" mode to fix the problem. I will have to trash this system and locate a converter that is Windows 10 compliant.

Solid performer
The instructions for actual use of the interface are somewhat vague, but once working it's a solid piece of software and hardware. The quality of the converted video is about as good as it gets at this price range, but that's where good video editing software takes over.

Does not convert to MP4
Does not convert to MP4 (smaller file) but only to MPEG2. Model is not listed on the company's website.

Does the job
Fairly good product, took some work getting it installed on Windows 10 as I had to use support page to find an upgraded driver. Only problem is that it continues to crash after capturing the video in advanced mode! Very frustrating.
