Why do people try and answer questions here that they clearly don’t have a clue about what they are saying?
Has no solar panel icon, just has a empty battery blinking and says the battery voltage. Any ideas?
When i hook the 12v battery up nothing happens. i am thinking the one i received is defective. i checked the voltage on the line side, nothing?
Default battery is “601” but there are no instructions on what that means or what other settings you should use for a 12v agm battery?

works fantastic keeping pump batteries charged only use the pump a couple of times a week to keep the icb tanks topped off

use stranded wire and dont over tighten the screws!

so going through the functions i can see how many amps off my solar panel wires are coming in to charge my battery. i love that over voltage. i dont use the load side. heard its like 12 volt and enough for a car bulb i guess. i got the 12/24 volt one. dont clamp onto solid 12awg. screws arent tough enough to lock hard on it. so i switched to alumuim stranded and it clamped down better and more snug.

work well up to 30amp with 10awg wire (max)

this will not operator over 30amp it will get too hot and shut down (good heat protection) . running good for 12 mo . these units are NOT large amp controllers 30amp max (100amp?) the largest wire gauge that can be used is 10awg @12vdc that is around 30amp max cap, so, what does the 100amp mean??? NOT 1200w ???

Good luce, you'll need it

Let's talk setup. The manual, or as I like to call it, the joke pamphlet, is useless as it shows "work parameter display" but doesn't tell you which battery "bat1" or "bat2" is which - wet or Lithium? Who knows. Load "d31" with no clue what that is. Let's talk about load settings. The instructions joke pamphlet shows all the different settings but you can turn it on and off with, of course no idea how to access them or set any of it. "Work Charge", again with no clue how to access it. "Set rechargable battery voltage." That's nice, if you knew where that gem is - the only two settings I can see are 13.1 and 14.2. Bulk and float settings? Good luck.

You get what you pay for.

So overall, it does work. If you are relying on this to charge a small scale setup then it might work for you. I used this in a Solar Kiln build running two 325w panels and a 12v deep cycle battery to power three 12v radiator fans pulling 11 amps each.Out of the box the Controller worked, recognizing the battery and the panels when connected in that order. The "load" output is good for an LED lightbulb or some other VERY low input device. The integrated USB is a great feature but ultimately was not tested.Do not be deceived by the power rating this advertises. In my setup this lasted for about two weeks and then it stopped recognizing the panels and charging the battery. Several other reviews mentioned the "moon" symbol. This is what I experienced. Disconnecting the panels and then the battery to try and "reset" the controller did not work. I also noticed that the power coming from the panels decreased over time. My guess would be that the circuitry is capable of handling the stated inputs/outputs however NOT for a long term use. I believe the circuitry started to degrade and this is why the power output started to decrease and eventually would not accept input from the panels. I also noticed that eventually, even with full sun hitting the panels, the draw was too much for this controller and it wouldn't run all three fans.As others have mentioned the terminals are small. The most I was able to stuff into the terminal was a 10 gauge wire. For the amperage rating, 10 gauge is not enough. The PV wires from the panels barely fit as well. Another sign that this controller is not suited for the advertised rating.Look, I'm sure this works fine for others and for the price it makes total sense. I may end up utilizing it for my solar electric fence or the gate openers that have MUCH smaller panels and inputs. I think it would work well for that application.Ultimately, I ended up purchasing a Victron 100/30 Solar Controller at nearly 10 times the price of this controller. I will tell you that not only did the Victron power all three fans but it charges the battery as well. There's just no comparison. If you are purchasing this to control a larger array and batteries I would consider it a testing unit before you invest in a better controller.I'll be upgrading my wiring to 6 AWG with the Victron as you can feel the heat dissipating from the 10 AWG currently. Another indication that the output was not even close to advertised.Overall this was a very inexpensive choice for "development" purposes

Works well for my solar water well in the pasture

I like the convenience of being able to filly water bottle at any time. The instructions on setting this up to work on 24 volts took some time. Watering sixty head of heifers with this system.

Fine Controller, Great Seller

Works well. Easy to hook up and use. Seller was great to work with after first one mysteriously stopped working. May have been my fault...unknown problem. Seller replaced it with no problems. So I'm back to getting power from the sun. gb

Does not get hot like the harbor freight one.

Keep your instructions handy your going to need them to make changes correctly. The display is cryptic, you need the instructions to set the battery type and charge/discharge voltages correctly.
