This item is being identified as the "tyvek lined gusset" model. IT IS NOT. I ordered this BECAUSE of that description. After receiving what was obviously not what I thought I was ordering, I did some research. It turns out these are Smead 71007, but are described as Smead 71456. I can't return them because they were needed NOW for an off-site project, but they will not last the lifetime of this project, as would the ones I thought I was ordering. They will need replaced within six months because they will tear. TOTALLY NOT HAPPY.

These are very cheaply made, very thin, too flexible, quite shallow and narrow in width. If you have a small number of related papers that you want to place together and you will never be moving the envelope around, this may work. However, many envelopes are used in situations where people transport related papers or want expansion room as the number of items they want to place inside grows. For instance, I wanted an envelope that could hold the growing medical papers from one doctor's care and allow me to take those to the office. In such cases, these are simply and quite inadequate. Also, when I tried testing one, the elastic cord came right off, thwarting its use to securely hold papers. Spend a little more money and get something that will last.

These folders, at slightly less than $2.00 each, are a bargain. I use them primarily to store each years tax returns along with the related back up documents, etc. Now that I have a fresh dozen on hand I will probably used one or two more for other financial documents, household inventories, etc. I shopped around for a long time looking for reasonably priced folders. Some places were selling 3 packs for what I paid for twelve folders. The only small thing I would note is the relative thinness of the elastic cords. I would be a bit leery of packing these folders to their maximum capacity as it might put too much of a strain on the cord. That being said I'm still happy with the purchase, consider them a good value for the price and will probably buy another box of twelve.

Perfect for storing and transporting important papers and organizing your notes on different projects. These are high quality and identical to the ones you often see lawyers carrying around. I love the top flap with elastic band because it keeps the contents secured inside. Will purchase again. Strongly recommend.
