My Granddaughter has had great fun with this engine

Lovely little Loco by GigJigs Toys. Good quality. Every little girls dream a Pink Loco...to go with her 'Swan Tunnel by Bigjigs and the Fairy Land Train set.

It's pink, it's a train, it runs on batteries and it works!

The media could not be loaded. This train is really easy to use and works well with the big jigs set we have, as you would expect. The first thing you need to do is find a battery as it she's not come with any, unscrew the bottom and put the battery in and they screw up again, it takes 1 x AAA battery.Once the battery is in there is a little slider on top, the central position is off and then you slide it into the forward or reverse positions at each side for the train to move forward or backwards.It is quite fast and pulls carriages with no problems, even up a bridge. We have been using it with some carriages from Big Jigs and some other makes and the carriages and the train has been pulling them fine. They connect simply via magnets and the train magnet is flexible in that it will move about to flex with the track, which means that the carriages stay attached through tight turns.The train is well made and feels solid to use, it does not derail on the track we have been using, the front wheels are just plastic while the back wheels have small rubber tyres.It does make a slight whining sound when in motion but it is really quite.Our daughter is nearly three and loves watching it go round the track, it's well made, just takes one battery and is fun, really love it.

The media could not be loaded. This a really nice addition to anyone’s wooden railway set and adds a nice extra dimension to play, particularly as sets get bigger. My nephews have inherited my son’s extensive collection and though they’re too small to play with it, I certainly appreciate it! The engine takes one AAA battery, that needs a small screwdriver to fit. The engine has enough traction to pull a few carriages and will go up an incline, though it will struggle with too many or too steep climb. It has to be mentioned that if you have any of the bridges that come with a standard figure-of-eight set, that the engine is too tall to fit under, but will go under the sort made with riser blocks.

This pink engine, battery operated, is a high quality addition to any wooden trains set.Bigjigs quality is up there with Brio.Powered by a Triple A battery, which you must supply and insert, the engine can then go forwards or in reverse, or the middle setting of the switch turns it off.Nice colours. Steady speed.

Whilst the train looks and feels great the motor is sadly not very powerful. It can’t power even itself up the bridges of my daughters train set let alone pull any carriages with it. Disappointing considering the price for just the engine piece.

Battery compartment screw either not long enough or the screw thread is dreadful as the battery compartment doesn't stay closed. Dangerous for small children
