Clairol Professional Crème Permanente 10 volume Hair Developer, 16 oz. - Packaging May Vary

I'm not sure if these bottles are supposed to come sealed or not.. but mine came with product spilling out of the semi closed lid. I'm weirded out about using it.. I hope it wasn't tampered with???

I have been bleaching and lightening my hair at home for @ 7 years now. While I highly prefer getting my hair professionally colored, I cannot afford it. This developer by Clairol helps me achieve the results I desire in the comfort of my home.This item is a Volume 40 developer, which means 'use with caution.' Actually, Volume 40 is recommended for use only by professional stylists. I use it to achieve super-blonde hair color quickly. I mix it with a powder coloring / lightening product at a 2:1 ratio. 2 parts volume to 1 part color.I always use extreme caution when coloring, and I re-read the directions every time I color my hair. You should do the same. Why? These are dangerous chemicals that can cause illness or injury quickly. You never know if or when a company has changed the composition of a product. Nor do you know when directions change due to new research. Always read the inserts and directions every time you color your hair. It just takes a few minutes, and even if it is a repeat of the last time, you can rest assured nothing has changed and carry on blissfully!Lecture's over now. I am not a professional hairdresser, so my testimonial is a single case study. What works for me might not work for you.As long as you're cautious and careful, this developer will work wonders for you. I love the results this product offers. wow awsome price and a big bottle too !!!. Im sure #40 will give me no more reddish hair!. It ónly takes 10 -15 minutes?(that# 35 did from loreal" highlight package" at 1hr devel. process.) And im med blond? Do it right at once with this #40. Great product

I was obviously in a rush when I bought this developer! I was looking for a no-lift developer and didn't notice that this was 10 vol. But it's only disclosed in the title and not anywhere on the bottle. 10 vol. lifts hair color (at least mine)! What a disaster! I was growing out my roots for 4 moths, did my highlights, everything was beautiful. Mixed my toner with this developer thinking it is a no lift developer and BOOM! Orange roots! Bottom line, if you need a true zero lift developer, do not buy this one.
