Palit NE51060015J9-1060D NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 Graphics Card - Black

Upgraded from an aging 7870XT to this for a few reasons:-great performance for the cost, Simply amazing value compared to what was available at this price a few years ago.-Efficiency, not even needing 6-pin power connectors from the PSU. Requires barely any power, saves a bit of money on the electricity bill :D Means the fan is very quiet too, not much heat to dissipate-Size, again thanks to the efficiency that it doesn't need a big heatsink, 2 fans etc. Makes it easy to work in a tight (ITX) case.-Nvidia drivers, software etc. I have no personal preference, I've used AMD for a long time and nvidia just seems a bit more modern and together when it comes to this stuff, works better with the games I play. maybe I'm wrong but it at least feels better with nvidia.It's been a few months since I bought it, it's held up great. Getting playable FPS on dayZ, 60fps on low intensity games like hearthstone and insurgency.

First, was upset with Amazon on this. Am a Prime member and this was clearly marked as Prime. When ordering it did not default to next day delivery as is normal. So had to wait 8 days to receive it as being shipped from Amazon Italy. Luckily I had ordered in advance so not an issue - and was £10 cheaper than anywhere else. Did arrive on the promised day - just not the next day !!!!Installed very easily - just make note that this is a double height card so will block a second slot on some mobos. Drivers installed first time.On the plus side, this is a very short card, so will fit in any PC case. In my case, the installation leaves loads of room for the HDDs - can remove them without taking the card out which is a plus.This card also does not need an additional 6-pin connector from the PSU - it draws all its power from the mobo - which is good.The fan is silent - or at least makes less noise than the PSU and case fans.I have this card driving 2 1080p monitors and a 32" 1080p TV - all perfectly - which is excellent.I am not a gamer, but benchmarks indicate that it will play most games at good rates and 1080p.Supports picture and video editing and blu ray TV play back really well + streaming of live TV through apps like KODIFor the price a great little video card

Still going strong after a couple of years. This is pretty much all you need for 1080p gaming for the majority of titles. You can also squeeze a bit of extra performance out of it by upping the clock and mem speeds via Afterburner. Of course, if you're after mad high frame rates, then you'll need to spend a bit more on something with a bit more oomph but this is currently hooked up to a 60Hz monitor so anything above that frame rate is pointless. Prices for all GPUs have been a bit bonkers recently but this, at the time, was pretty good value. I've had a few Palit cards and never had a problem with them. They seem much better value than some of the other brands out there.But yeah, if you can still get one, these are fine for 1080p gaming. Bit of overclocking headroom and pretty quiet to boot. Still going strong and very happy.

I was a bit cautious at first about buying this card as it had the same amount of VRAM as my old 280x that died but can say it has absolutely no problems at all with everything maxed at 1080p and close to locked 60fps in most games. Other people have said that because of the 3GB frame buffer that it's unsuitable for anything above 1080p, well I just got a new 4K TV and thought I'd give it a shot at 1440 & 2160p. What I found is that stutter from shift over to system memory you normally get didn't seem to happen even at 4K. Sure, FPS was lower than I normally would like but I managed to lower a few settings on Rise of the Tomb Raider and it hovered around 25-30. I have to say it looked awesome though. Down to 1440p and FPS was around 45FPS. I tested out Skyrim: SE & Metal Gear Solid V too with both actually playable with a few settings lowered even at 4K. 1440p seems to be the sweet spot to be honest. I read that it's got something to do with better memory compression with pascal, whatever the case this is one decent card. Recommended.

I bought this card to replace an old fanless Asus GT 640. I'm very pleased with the performance, around 5 times faster than the old card on Cycles rendering with Blender, and it plays 4K 60fps video faultlessly with full hardware acceleration so there is minimal CPU usage. And despite the increase in performance, when running at full stretch it's slightly cooler than my old card, taking over 5 minutes of FurMark to get it to 90C.Of course, potential purchasers of this card who want top performance need to ask themselves whether they really need a fanless card. In my case I do need something quiet as my PC is the heart of my home recording studio, but I'm also interested in 3D graphics and watching video. So given the current state of graphics card technology, I really I couldn't ask for a better compromise than this Palit card.EDIT: Just out of interest I ran a DXVA utility and it told me the card was actually capable of rendering some 8K video formats with full hardware assist, although of course its physical video interfaces are limited to DCI 4K (4096 x 2160).
