The one to buy !
Made in England! This quality at this price point cannot be made in China or present day America. Well engineered, solid construction, telescopic METAL handle. Heavy steel brackets and a thick sharp blade. Tighten all the nylock nuts before use. I am a retired Jaguar mechanic whose great grandfather was a Royal Navy seaman arriving in the US in 1880. This tool will do the job! Only improvement possible would be an inexpensive sheath for the saw blade when not in use.

If you know how to work you will be pleased.
I’m in a Weelchair 👨🏻‍🦽‍➡️and I can get to a lot areas that I wouldn’t be able to reach otherwise. I highly recommend this tool because it was built correctly.

Heavy!
Both shear and saw worked just fine on the two trees I’ve used it on so far. My only complaint is the weight. I didn’t think that would be an issue but after maneuvering it in the trees for a short while, I found it to be a pretty good upper body work out. I’m a male at 5’10” 220lbs in fair shape and I was glad when I finished hah!

Solid High-Quality Tool
I love this pruner. I bought it so I could chop up a huge bougainvillea that had grown up over the roof of my back porch and needed to be cut back to almost nothing. Because of the design of the head, it didn't work well at being pushed into the dense foliage of the bush forcing me to buy a second pruner, however, I used it on tall trees that had easily accessed branches and it cuts beautifully. There is very little in the way of plastic parts which is great; this tool should last a long time (with occasional sharpening and oiling). It isn't really lightweight; I had to build up my biceps for a few weeks before I could control the placement of the head well when fully extended. I was an out-of-shape old lady who hadn't done any heavy labor or significant exercise for a couple of years, so anyone who is reasonably strong and healthy should be able to handle this. Great pruner!UPDATE: I just tried out the saw. I saw other reviewers complaining about the wing nut that comes loose, so I wrapped one layer of plumber's pipe sealing tape around the screw. It still came loose a little bit after I worked the blade really hard but the saw worked so well at cutting through a stubborn thick knotty branch that my usual pole saw couldn't handle that I didn't care about a little looseness. I might try another layer of sealing tape or maybe another wing nut from my supply . . . I'll find a way to keep it on there tight, one way or another. The blade is worth a little bit of trouble with a wing nut. Maybe if I attach the wing nut and then cover the exposed end of the screw with a bunch of sealing tape so the wing nut can't move? Later on that - I am the process of overhauling my toilet and I'm worn out.UPDATE July 29, 2023 I worked on that loose wing nut a bit and improved the situation. I added more pipe sealant tape, and I had a rubber washer left over from my toilet fixing which I cut down a bit. I put it on next to the metal and put the provided metal ring/washer on top of that. It helps a LOT. I worked hard sawing branches like the one shown in the photo and the wing nut never loosened more than a quarter turn. I had to tighten it a tiny bit in between major sawing a couple of times but that blade is so good I didn't mind; saved me from having to hire a possibly criminal-minded stranger (you don't want to hear the many stories of my multiple horrible experiences with workers who like to mess up the life of an old woman). Spear and Jackson gave me freedom and independence with this glorious saw plus a really impressive set of new biceps.

Lightweight and No Easy Replacement Parts
Serviceable for lightweight work. Saw is flimsy and bolt holding saw falls out easily causing high potential for loss. Saw seems to have pre-drills allowing different angle but none but one lines up. Be prepared to remove a multitude of difficult to remove stickers placed without aesthetic regard and, if using a heat gun for removal, be aware that paint is a dip or wrap and will also melt away from surface. In using saw it bucked and damaged spring and I wanted to get an entire head/parts replacement kit (nut/bolt/spring/pull-rope) but unable to find. That being said, what I do like is that it's lighter weight is more friendly for long extended arm-work without causing the same fatigue the more solid and heavier weight products cause.

Excellent tool though not sure about the pull rope
Easy to use, simple to adjust the height, razor sharp blade, cuts through anything the size of the hooked component where the blade is — but I’m still not sure how I feel about the pull mechanism being a small rope. It’s easy to operate, but I think I’d like something more sturdy to grab and pull.I haven’t used the saw yet, so can’t speak to that aspect here.
