Installed Power Supply is Insufficient For USB 3.0 Ports - Otherwise, Superior Computer!

The installed power supply is insufficient for USB 3.0 ports for someone like myself who is using all of them at once. I still gave it a 5-star rating since most people will find this computer to be exceptional, including myself. A slightly more powerful power supply would've been nice but the price would've increased. I'm happy and content with what I received for the price I paid. Just be aware that you may get power fault warnings on the USB 3.0 ports if you're using all of them at the same time. This was a very fair offer. The PC was in like-new condition and arrived packed very well. I would definitely buy from this seller again. It's been 4 months and I just love this computer! You are going to want to bump up the RAM to 32GB if you're a heavy user. Ask the seller to do it for you before you purchase. UPDATE: August 28th, 2020. Despite bumping up the RAM and the BIOS indicating I have 32GB, I did not notice an improvement and am constantly having freezing issues as a result of 10 or more tabs being opened for Google. The same thing occurs with other browsers. I installed a 500GB SSD with Linux Mint 20 and it runs absolutely incredible now. Super fast and can now have 20 tabs opened without a glitch. Linux also recognized the Creative Soundblaster Audigy card I have installed so I use this system for playing music and videos especially. November 13th, 2021: I am still using this computer for Ununtu and Linux. It wasn't built to be a Windows computer. Linux works amazing! I still love it! UPDATE: It's October 27th and I still use this computer as a Linux system with 32GB of RAM. It is perfect for Linux, but I'd advise against anything else. I am using Zorin OS Pro and still using original hard drives.

Excellent product, excellent seller

We use the Dell Optiplex 9020 i7 at work and they still perform well. I was looking for the same system to build out an inexpensive gaming box. I chose to buy this refurbished system from TekRefurbs and I recommend them. The system arrived well packed and spotless and works perfectly. It came with a new usb keyboard and mouse, USB WiFi dongle, a welcome packet and a mouse pad. Nice touches. In order to use a good video gaming card I replaced the power supply with a higher power ATX supply using a 24pin to 8pin adapter, also purchased from Amazon. The system is ready to go and powerful enough to keep up with current software and games, despite that it's a few i7 generations old now. I'm very pleased.

SECOND REFURBISHED DELL OPTIPLEX I'VE BOUGHT AND STILL HAPPY

I got a refurbished Dell Optiplex 780 in 2014 and it still works pretty good. Just getting too long in the tooth for modern usage. But it was inexpensive and has given no trouble at all. So far I feel exactly the same about the Optiplex 9020. These are generally units that sat in giant offices where 200 people did insurance claims or processed financial transactions, that kind of thing. The computer had been gone through carefully, cleaned, spruced up, and you get Windows 10 free. I'm pretty happy. Only complaint is the 3.0 USB port was damaged and failed about a month after I got it. Still working on replacing it somehow.

A lot of value in a small box.

This is my first purchase of a renewed computer. I looked at a lot of systems on Amazon, and settled on this Dell Optiplex 9020. It arrived in great shape, almost can't tell it's a refurbished unit. Only a couple of minor surface scratches that were fixed with a Sharpie. Clean on the outside and inside. It is configured exactly as it was described. Fired right up. Nice to see lack of bloatware. I gave it two stars for gaming, as it's not configured for such. I picked up a Startech DP to DVI adapter, works fine. I am looking at some upgrades in the future, including a larger wattage p.s., along with an SSD and a discrete video card.EDIT 10/14/2020: I've made the following upgrades: bumped RAM to 32GB, added RX570 4GB video card, Corsair 650w power supply. I purchased a 2.5" Crucial 1TB SATAIII SSD. I have yet to install it, as I'm still wrestling with changing BIOS over to UEFI, which will necessitate a clean install of Windows 10, or simply doing a drive to drive clone. I agree with the poster that indicated bumping the RAM from 16 to 32GB didn't make much, if any improvement. I did it mainly to make sure DDR3 was still available, at the right price.I also picked up a refurb Dell 24"monitor, for the ridiculous price of $60. I remain pleased with the original Dell purchase.

I’m tired of being an unpaid tester

The specs are good, the Machine was free from visible scratches. Plugged in the web of cables required for a modern set up and began installing programs and applying patches to bring the OS current. As part of that process I rebooted the only to have the machine not boot. I pulled the power cord and reset it and it boots up... ohh crap.I’m a System Admin and have been for decades. I know what’s coming. I continue to patch and set up and when the same issue happens again, I take note of the blinking power light and look up the code. According to the code the motherboard is bad.The company didn’t give me any problems sending it back, but this was supposed to be a “refurbished” machine. This machine was never tested. They buy them second hand from a company, toss in a cloned disk and resell them, what ever doesn’t come back, must have been good. That means they’re using there customers as there testers, and that’s BS.It’s not just this seller, I’ve bought several machines for friends and family, only to send it back due to an obvious problem. If you buy these “referbs”, set them up IMMEDIATELY, and at the first wif of a problem, send it back.Note: the onboard graphics for this is good enough to meet the minimum requirements for most DirectX 12 games, but most gamers will probably be underwhelmed. For anything else, the specs are quite good.

Fast with plenty of memory and storage

Using as back up PC. In the music production works flawlessly no issues at all. Lots of storage, fast CPU, and 16 GB of memory what more could you want?
