good resin
i only use water washable now, to be honest i find it no different in quality to the normal resin, some people say its more brittle but i don't think its any more brittle than the standard resin in the models i have printed and you don't need to wash it in alcohol

Good quality resin
This is my first foray intro Resin Printing. I have been using FDM printers for 6 years now, and I wanted to try out the MSLA option too. This is my first time using resins, and I chose this Elegoo Water Washable resin as a beginner.First of all the bottle came well packed, inside a box and sealed in a thick plastic bag so no real risk of getting resin everywhere I'd the bottle breaks. The bottle itself is plastic, but very strong and thick, and it comes very well sealed. It also had a small brush in the package. The resin smells. Quite bad. I can't compare it to other resins, but it is an acrid smell. I bought a respirator and filters for VOCs and I don't have any problems now. First time using it without a mask, it did give me bad headaches.Dialing in the resin wasn't very difficult. I used Elegoo's spreadsheet to match my printer settings (Elegoo Mars 3 Pro). The test print that came with the printer came out fine. I also did a Siraya Tech calibration which helped me dial in the settings further. This was washed in tap water (not in the sink). I think it doesn't clean very well the small details, but I used the brush that came in the package to get in every nook and cranny. Still, an ultrasonic cleaner would probably produce better results.I have cured the resin with a small UV light I have from smartphone tempered glass installation kit and it seemed to work well enough. I do need a proper UV light to do it.Even after curing there is a smell to the printed parts. I'm not sure if that's from the curing light not being strong enough. But you can only smell it if you hold the prints close to your nose. All in all I'm happy with this resin. I just wished it was cheaper.

Much easier clean up
I have been using a resin 3D printer for around a year. Prior to that I used a filament printer for some time. I bought a resin printer because I liked the quality in smaller prints. I was not however excited about working with a liquid. My brother who has many resin printers suggested water washable to me. I have a clean and cute station but I didn’t like the thought of having a big tub of alcohol on the side and waste loads of it for the infrequency I print.I got a couple of bottles of this and it’s really easy to use. I take the whole plate off my printer after it’s had a short while to drip and put it right into the wash station with warm water in it. When it’s done I trim it and find it really easy to do once it’s been in warm water and then onto the cure station. Worth noting for those of you new to this - do NOT throw the water you wash it in or run any of the resin down the sink. That’s a good way to screw up your pipes. I have a spot outside where I dump the water away from where any animals would have a sniff around and where there’s no plants.I also don’t clean up my tank anywhere near as often as I should but I’ve found it’s no issue to stir around the resin with my finger, pour more in, stir again and go printing. Just again make sure there’s no UV light or direct sunlight anywhere near the machine.

Exelent resin.
Very crisp detail, reasonable exposure time for a darker resin and difficult to overcure.Looks great on its own and accepts primer beautifully. It's perhaps a little on the fragile side but I'm fairly clumsy.

The 8k Resin may be double the price but it may very well be worth it, even without an 8k Printer
So i have been using the normal water washable resin with my Saturn s for about a year since buying it with minor issue. I tend to like using water washable as it just makes clean up easier. I recently got a Saturn 3 Ultra and decided to get a bottle of the 8k resin to test.I have to say I was blown away. NOT because the quality is any better for printing, I did a test print of the same model on the same machine for both resins and i think its easier to see the detail with the darker 8k resin so i dont think thats the main draw. The main benifit is how much stronger the 8k version is.Typical elegoo water washable is fairly brittle which is why i think i got quite a few failures be it partial or full, this stuff on the other hand is way sturdier and just feels stronger. This can be something of a double-edged sword as support scarring is more common but i still think its excelent.
