We chose this bench after researching items on offer at our local garden centres, etc. and in this price bracket (and more!); they were flimsy, ornate, or both and also supplied as flat packs and didn't instill us with any confidence for their longevity... This bench is VERY substantial (heavy too!) and is made from treated wooden planks, with suitable green credentials. The box is heavy and you may need assistance assembling the bench, however, to our pleasant surprise; the legs (including the back uprights) arrive preassembled, requiring you to screw together the seat, the back and lower reinforcing strut (between the lower legs). The included screws are top quality and go in without any fuss, making the assembly quite effortless. The result is a very attractive, no frills, practical bench, which is quite comfortable with a lounging back support, far better than the almost vertical backrests we tried at the garden centres. The assembly directions are clear and easy to understand and we have no doubt whatsoever that this bench will last for many years to come, as there was no sign of any warping or imperfections requiring any additional 'fettling'. We wholeheartedly recommend this bench (this may be obvious in the glowing review!)

Easy to put together only takes 10 or 20 minutes.It looks pretty nice and is made from good quality pressure treated timber.Finished of nicely and in my opinion represents excellent value for money.I highly recommend this product and wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again should I require one.Ho and it arrived the next day..Happy shopper 🤗

These benches are good value, high quality and easy to assemble. I would’ve given 5 stars but for the fact that of the ten I purchased, nine of them had a base support bar which was cut too short. This meant I had to pull the legs in at the bottom and then re position the fixing for the back rest on all but one of them.

This is a nice – no nonsense – bench that is solid, well designed, arrives in four bits plus a simple spar, the leg assemblies (otherwise known as the ‘tough bits to get right’ )are pre-assembled and the seat and back are similarly well put together on arrival – you just have to put them together with the provided screws & add the lower spar.The tools I used were a [good] power drill/driver – I piloted the screw holes before driving the screws in – and whilst not essential, four medium G clamps made the assembly really easy.This is good wood that has been pressure treated but since we are in wet North Wales, I treated the assembled bench with some additional clear wood preserver before the two coats of Garden Colours – Cream was our choice… and an additional two coats of clear sealant.You may notice that I added some ‘shoes’ in the form of cut down HDPE chopping boards from the supermarket where every little helps (I used a power trim saw), just to keep the wood away from the paving slabs….So, about an hour to assemble and for me three days to treat / paint and finish. We will be having another one of these since everyone here agrees that this turned out well.

Not rocket science to assemble but with a little bit of savvy and a cordless drill it goes together like a dream.It was just what I wanted, not too expensive but well made, strong and sturdy. I was going to have a go at making my own bench, but why bother, by the time you factor in materials and the hassle, it certainly wouldn’t be worth it.Buy this little bench and you won’t be disappointed 😃

Bench came in a couple of parts making it very easy to assemble. Very good quality.

The bench comes in only four main parts plus a bracing strut. There are no pre-drilled holes, but the instructions were easy to follow. I managed to put in a couple of screws using just a ratchet screwdriver, but a powered screwdriver is definitely easier. I'm no DIY-er, and it's a bit more technical than building IKEA furniture, but it wasn't too difficult. The bench itself is a good price, and it looks good. The problem I had is the parts didn't quite fit together snugly. After screwing on the seat panel exactly as instructed, I found the bracing strut was about 3cm too short. When attaching the back rest, it too was just a little too short and I had to install it with a slight gap at the bottom ends. Despite these niggles, the bench feels solid enough, even without the bracing strut installed. I'm doubtful it'll be as durable as my other benches, but it serves a purpose.
