Good replacement for older GPUs and older onboard graphics

This is a great little card for upgrading from older GPUs, such as Geforce 210 (Which I had in another PC) or onboard GPUs, which 2 of my PCs were using.Just to note, I run Ubuntu Linux 18.04.1 on this particular system (I am writing from), and I also run Windows 10 Pro on another, both of these PCs are using a GT710. Both have 8GB RAM and an SSD as a primary drive, and a spinning drive for data stuff. Both systems are general office systems, so there are no heavy duty games running on these PCs. They run general office apps such as Libre Office, Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw, and runs Thunderbird, and the W10 PC runs MS Office, Access, Word, Powerpoint and Excel mostly, and also Photoshop, both PCs are also used for light development work, such as PHP, HTML/CSS, JS, VBA etc.I have placed this card inside an HP Elite 8200, using the LP bracket. I was running with onboard HD2000 graphics on my ageing i5-2400, which for the most part still does a great job and is more than adequate for the office tasks I run and with having bigger screens and more onscreen work going on these days, I was starting to get some lag, the GT710 has removed the lag and works a treat.I went for this item because it suits my power requirements, the PCIe slot on the 8200 can only provide 25W and this card only requires 19W so this is perfect if you need a low power draw, it has GDDR5, which makes it a touch quicker than the DDR3 units, and also because it has 2GB vs 1GB, plus, it has a fan, to help move the air around in the SFF case, the fan is fairly quiet too, and the temps are pretty good, also the price between the 2GB GDDR5 and 1GB was only about £7 and only about £10 more than a DDR3 model.I am very happy with these little cards, they have given my older PCs a bit more of a snappy feel, removed the lag from having multiple windows and browsers open, and have given my office PCs another couple of years life. For anyone looking to extend the usefulness of their ageing PCs this could be a cheap upgrade, sometimes people get-rid simply because a PC feels slow, but putting a cheap GPU in can often help.It is not a gaming card however and I would suggest anyone looking for a gaming card, needs to look elsewhere, and I know NVidia market it as a gaming card, but be aware, it is not, it is, however, perfect for everyday users who do email, office work, browse the internet and play the occasional light games.

Good basic graphic card

A bit confusing when the graphic card drive arrived, as the item was described as having a cd with drivers and general set-up.I spent a lot of time looking for the correct drivers on line. I contacted the vendor who said no disk supplied. After downloading the correct driver, the control panel which is included with driver could not be found. However, I had just reinstalled an upgrade Windows and I eventually found it under apps instead of being put on the desktop. The reason for buying this drive was because of a suspect faulty integrated card on my Asus motherboard.I was getting worsening artifacts, b.s.o.d and general freezing and errors etc.Happily, the drive has eradicated these errors, and speeded things up in general which was a great relief .Conclusion: Recommended item, seems well made and I liked the addition of the fan. Good price. Good delivery time and quick response from the seller.26th. April'25 ~ Update: Graphic card doing well, solved all my problems. I get a very occasional freeze, but this is a known fact with my edition of Windows.

Good product, simple to install, does the task I need it for

The graphics card was bought for testing my pc builds and Is currently being used in a streaming pc for just for a camera set up in training streams for my twitch channel. It is good graphic card if you just want it to render a hd display at 60hz and display multiple hd cameras of you want to stream. I would say it not the best idea to get it for gaming, it can run older and less intensive games such as pubg lite in low to medium settings just fine, but don't expect to run AAA titles on it, which I did try to no avale. But it is worth the money if you just want to your computer to do office work or such or light workloads.

...It's cheap and it works 👌

...not the greatest Gfx card Nvidia produce but it beats the hell outta the GPU I had in my Toshiba Satellite. I play DayZ SA (amongst others i.e. Squad, ARMA II ARMA III, Insurgency, DayZ Mod. etc) and it lets me play those games pretty well. I'll upgrade when I've saved enough cash, but 30-odd quid asking price is cheap enough. It's a entry-level gfx card that works 10/10

Dual Monitor Support Unusable

A good standard 710 card let down by the fact that the DVI-I / HDMI ports are so close together it is impossible to find an 'off the shelf' cable with plugs small enough to allow them to both be fitted at the same time. After 15 minutes with a sharp knife I managed to shave down some cable plugs to squeeze them both in to fit, but really these sockets need to be positioned 10mm further apart. If you need to use an adapter on the cable - forget it.Fine if you only plan to connect one or other of the outlet ports, but no use for dual-monitor connections.

Had an issue with older monitor...

I'm using an old Dell monitor with DVI-D connector, plugged in the HDMI slot or the DVI-I slot won't come on as primary screen, but will work when I use as a second monitor thru the HDMI connector. Didn't really buy for gaming but my kids have downloaded and played some games and works great, also installed my old MS Flight Sim X, and it's running everything on 'max' graphics mode, first time I've ever had that :)

Works well for a basic graphics card

I did not know what to expect with this, but knew it would be a massive upgrade on the existing built in GPU on my HP PC.I didn't want to spend £50-60 plus on this, as i only play World of Tanks.Fitting was easy, adding the drivers not so as for some reason my PC didn't see the hardware without some jiggerypokery. But this just might be my machine.Played WOT and saw a FPS rate of 60-70 in medium graphics level and could get a playable 20 FPS with High level graphics. The latter was with some overclocking, which on the monitors is not stressing the card out that much.So in essence, as long as it lasts, it is good value and probably about the right level for my ageing PC.
