Can't believe I never bought one before
Looking through various boxes, I've discovered a lot of drill bits for which I have no idea of size. Trying to see info stamped on the tangs is not always successful, while measuring with a micrometer is not aways convenient. This gauge is an obvious solution. In its favor -- the smallest size is #61. The holes are labeled in mm, fractional inches, and letter/number. The gauge can also be used to check bolt diameters, and there is a notched-out area so that a bolt can be held against the ruler scales without the bolt head getting in the way. The holes are accurate enough to allow differentiating look-alike sizes such as 8mm vs 5/16". I held back a star because the gauge is plastic, although the plastic seems very hard. That, and the largest size the gauge can handle is "P" (8.2mm). It would be nice if the minimum size(s) were smaller than #61, but working with such tiny bits is a world unto itself.

A serious gauge from a gauge enthusiast
There's a 4 (legal size) page manual included that covers how to correctly use the drill bit gauge. A guy passionate enough to write that is serious about his gauge, and it shows in the quality of the product! I salute you, Mr. Gangi.

Why didn't somebody make this a long time ago?
I have fractional, number, letter and metric drills and inevitably end up with a bin of unsorted bits. I have some gauges, but there are different ones for each family, so I have to go try ALL of them to really figure out what size bit I have. This gauge puts them all in order on one plate. Simple and it works. Also, some of the better gauges I have just have stamped numbers on the steel plate, so not super easy to read. This one has high contrast, easy to read data. The holes seem to be nice and sharp. I have not checked the accuracy, but this one is definitely easier to tell the "fit" than the stamped metal gauges I have. Finally, there is a very nice 4 page set of "instructions". Wait. instructions for a drill gauge? Yeah, but they are well written and informative. I have been doing shop for decades, and knew a lot of it, but still picked up a few useful bits of info. Well worth reading! This is just one of those products that somebody put a lot of thought and care into doing it right. Highly recommended!

Not for measuring wire
Very nice product. Note that the wire sizes that are equivalent to the number drill sizes are NOT the American ones. Don't use this to measure wire, use a gauge made to AWG sizes.
