Elevation effects power output
Firstly:An important thing about generators is the power loss at altitude. Each 1000 feet gained you lose about 4%. I camp at 7000 feet in southern Idaho, and I run on propane. At 7000 feet, I get 1200 watts (per my Victron Cerbo GX) before it shuts off due to overload.I have done the math, I generate 900 watts of power for 1 lb of propane, so a 20 lb bottle at 1200 watts gives me 18kw. This is 15 hours on a bottle of propane at 7000 ft. This typically lasts me a week.Next point:The hour meter is VERY nice for keeping up on oil changes, it takes the guess work out it.Conclusion: If i was buying again, I would get the 4000 watt unit. With propane and my elevation this would give me 1800 watts, which would cut my run time down by a third.(Note: I work from home, and home is where the wifi is. My daily power usage includes a computer, starlink, misc appliances, phones, tv, lights (about 3kw daily). Because I camp in the forest my solar only generates about 1kw, so daily I need to generate an additional 2kw.) I typically run it for a couple hours while cooking dinner in the evening.Lastly, this generator is not what I would call silent.I have about 40 hours on it, it always starts easily. (I use gas to start it than swap to propane)This generator cost 1/3 the price of a Honda, and has a built in propane carb. Solid value for money. It lives in the back seat of my truck and I never smell gasoline.Oh, also, its super light weight.

Defective Coil!
After an hour of attempting to start the generator using gas and propane we figured out that the generator had a defective coil. Called customer service and after another half hour wait, they asked 20 questions and agreed to send a replacement coil which will take another 5-7 days for delivery, not to mention the time it will take to replace the coil, not sure how to do that . So more time will be wasted trying to correct their mistake*update; after waiting another week the parts never came in. I once again called customer service and they said they would resend the parts! Because of the time delay and the fact that I need this generator for my worksite, I asked for a refund or a new generator, they told me I would now have to mail the generator to a repair shop! Who knows how long this is going to take! Keep in mind this generator never worked from the start!!! Furious at this point!

Works like a champ
Been using this for a year and it's preformed great although it has not run on propane. There was one issue on the road when it sputtered but that could be altitude or faulty gasoline. I try to use non-ethanol gas when I can and when I don't I let the generator run until gas is empty from the lines. The generator powered my RV for 8 hours on one tank while in sitting in snow although I kept the electrical usage to "need to have" such as two small space heaters and a couple of lights. I turned off a heater to run the two burner stove. I think it's a great buy for the money. Always break it in for an hour or more then change the oil. Champion seems to always get good reviews on Youtube.

Only starts on propane after running on gas at least once
As others have stated this unit doesn't like to start on propane, at least to begin with.Out of frustration i tried it on gas and it started right up... then after switching back to propane, it also started right up.So it seems you have to run it on gas at least once, which i wanted to avoid, in order to run it on propane. Not sure why that is, but it's worked like a charm ever since. It's very quiet for a generator, lightweight enough that a woman could carry it without too much trouble and had no problem powering a 1500w space heater. It's everything i wanted out of a little suitcase generator, albeit a bit pricy for my pocket.... but that's just what inverters go for.And it's dual fuel on top of that, so what do you expect?Besides that one little problem at the start it's given me no problems so far.
