If you are tight on space and need a very attractive and functional charcoal incense burner, you may want to take a look at this product. I love the quality and the detailed design, but most of all, I like how it does a great job burning incense and protecting the furniture at the same time. The bowl is made from a heavy-duty metal (brass maybe?), and the base is made of a quality, heavy dark wood which provides plenty of heat insulation. However, word of **CAUTION** If you intend to walk from room to room holding the incense burner, which is something those who burn oudh or camphor resin on a glowing red-hot charcoal puck often like to do to distribute the fragrance throughout the house, please be extremely careful and protect your hands with an oven mitt or something similar. Better yet, get another burner for that purpose, a larger one with a handle. This charcoal burner can get very hot and is best left in one place while it does its thing. That being said, this is a fantastic little doodad, and quite the bargain for under $10. I love it and highly recommend!

I just received this little piece, and I'm already using it! I am surprised how "big and functional" this tiny piece is.For starts, I added some black sand 1 X 1lb Black Incense Burner Sand, into the bowl (about 2 heaping TBSPs) to fill the bowl about 1/3rd of the way. I put the screen back on (to where the screen it dips in), placed the incense burner with coaster on a small decorative plate, then placed a charcoal disk/briquette Kwik Lite Brand Quick Lighting Long Lasting Incense Burner Charcoal Briquette Tabs - 100 Per Box on the screen and lit it. After the charcoal was lit, I added organic frankincense 100% Pure Organic Frankincense Resin / Tears - 8oz - High Quality - By Sweet Essentials and myrrh Myrrh Resin - Organic - 1/2 lb resin on top of the briquette. It is heating the resin beautifully and giving off a very pleasant aroma through the smoke. --With using a plate, under this incense burner and it's coaster, I was able to easily walk throughout the house carrying and delivering this pleasant scent everywhere.This was my first time using a charcoal incense burner. It does deliver more smoke than your typical incense sticks and cones. Paying under $7 shipped, this is definitely a good bargain. The size is perfect for it's function. I almost purchased a larger one at twice the price, but now I am happy that I didn't. This piece is adorable with nice detailing, and it is sturdy and well crafted for it's size and function. I would definitely recommend.Edit to add: I guess I don't need the sand, but a little at the bottom looks cool anyway. lol The ash that falls to the bottom is seriously not too hot.

The media could not be loaded. This is my first resin burner, it looks good and it's doing the job. It's really small though but that works out considering the space I have it in.

I really like this little burner. It looks nice, and functions well. It does get VERY hot though. Using a FLUKE thermal camera I measured temps of 240F on the body while using it. You DEFINITELY want to use the heat plate it came with or, even better, do what I did and put it in a metal cup/bowl with a couple of inches of sand. The hottest the outer cup got was 85F near the top where there wasn't any sand. The base was 75F in a 72F room. Be careful and don't let kids or pets near it.

Be advised that it is an extremely small burner, and it does get very hot.It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I should have made better note of the size description provided. But it fits the charcoal very well. The fact that it doesn't have a top allows me to place a good amount of resin on top of the charcoal.It gets very hot, so I would not advise placing it directly on a table or anything that would burn or discolor due to the heat. Also, I wouldn't try to hold it when the charcoal is burning. I have a small glass vase that I have filled with sand that I place it in, so it works great, especially when I want to carry it room to room to get the resin smell into each room faster.

Item is missing the pedestal under the incense bowl. It is pictured with item that I ordered and the order did not contain that. I would have liked to have had the one that I ordered with the pedestal. So three stars. The quality of the item I received is very good. The design is beautiful no imperfections. The coaster is wood not Cork and is very good quality. Very happy with the quality and value not happy that it does not look like what I ordered

Works great, good quality. Others have complained about it being too small. I'm not finding that at all. Perhaps it's been made larger since those reviews? Or folks are using charcoals larger than the standard 1-3/8" disks I use?The only issue is with the thin brass wires used to hold the charcoal. Those will likely burn out over time.
