Anthony'sTextured Vegetable Protein, TVP, 1.5 lb, Gluten Free, Vegan, Made in USA, Unflavored

This stuff is an awesome protein bomb. For me, I have no problem digesting high fiber plant proteins like this so I never experience any stomach issues. The taste is pretty bland by itself and doesn't have a strong scent either so typically I'll use it as a ground meat substitute by reconstituting it straight in some hot broth and then make sure to season really well. I highly recommend making this into taco meat or sloppy joes. I have also used it as a substitute to make "meat"balls for italian wedding soup by using "no chicken" broth and lots of dried herbs and italian bread crumbs. It's a nice special occasion food since we don't eat tons of mock meat and usually stick with tofu or beans.

It's the same as soy chunks used for Indian cooking, except the soy chunks some of the Indian stores sell here are not of good quality and have a strong taste which is not good. But this one is pretty good, similar to the soy chunks we find back in India. Will keep restocking :) hopefully they add more variations instead of just granules.

This is my first experience with TVP and it was vert positive! I’ve added it to pasta and also beans.

Have made tacos twice... two different recipes. The recipe matters. My husband says he can't tell the difference between this and beef the way I've made it. It's amazing. Fat-free too! We are going to be eating a lot of this stuff... fat-free, plant-based protein... awesome! Tastes like what you flavor it with. Texture is just like burger in my taco recipes. It's probably cheaper than meat when it's rehydrated, but I found some half the price of this, but I have to fork out $115 for it... which I will... but this is a good value for the size bag.

I can’t say enough nice things about this product. While it does have a “learning curve” with regard to converting your standard recipes to using TVP, it has performed well in all cases ( hamburgers, meatballs, etc), and offers vegans, or people who just want to cut down on red meat, an economical, tasty alternative to ground beef.

Good stuff, no artificial coloring or other weirdness. Great source of protein.

Great product for a good price. Have ordered multiple times.
